Yay for a easier week than last week! I can’t believe I’m actually on Tumblr on a weekday … will wonders ever cease. XD Of course, since I had some spare time, I also decided to attempt a drabble for practice. (I really should’ve just stuck to editing the other chapter of the pirate fic, since I did leave the last chapter bit on a cliffhanger, but ARRGH).  

To my defense, I ended up with a fabulous — or at least it seemed like it was a fabulous at the time — Toriko smut idea.

Buuuuut … I ran into the same problem I ALWAYS run into when trying to write PWP. The sniggles. You know, I start TRYING to write the sexxors, and then something makes me snicker, and then it turns into giggles and suddenly it’s like I’ve taken a time machine back to when I was twelve years old.

I despair of ever writing a good hot sex scene. I really do. And really, it’s only a problem when I’m WRITING. THERE’S ALL THESE WIGGLY PARTS AND GRUNTING AND THRUSTING. I don’t know why it just makes me start “pffft”-ing but I think it’s somewhere between searching for the right verbs and adjectives and trying to picture it in my head that my giggle reflex goes off.

It’s different when I’m a reader. I am totally able to suspend my disbelief then … and HOW. I don’t think I’m this huge prude IRL either. Or I hope not.

There’s just something inherently wonderful and quirky about all human bodies, no matter how sculpted and beautiful they may be … and I guess for me, part of the joy in being with someoneincludes those awkward times when you’re trying to get everything to fit and noticing the weird angles and jiggly bits … and then FINALLY getting over it … I can’t seem to forget that when I try to jump straight into writing the porn.

It seems magnified within this fandom too. Cause honestly, I think Toriko and the others (no matter WHO you pair them with) would have some MAJORLY awkward-y first times, given their different sensory levels and probably sensory preferences. Perhaps I should write that out FIRST so I can get it straight in my head, before jumping on the train to PWP-ville. That’s usually what helps me get over it in most fandoms I try to write for. XD

However, I’m really scared that whatever I’ll write will turn into this comedy of eros instead of just PURE eros.

Oh great googly moogly, no one will ever. ever. read me. T____T *whines dramatically*

Anyway. Yeah. Total fail. I did not write the Toriko Smut fic because I got caught up in the details and started sniggling at the awk fest that occurred. Still, I have a great idea if anyone wants to try. It did amuse me for a whole night, for what it’s worth.

Also, speaking of awkward fests *Facepalm* MUCH LOVE AND THANKS TO lotusblossomz2061 , itschilitime, celloowls, and knight-of-eire  for reading and liking the newest angsty incarnation of the pirate fic. That was awkward too — but in a totally different way. *blush* I am polishing up the next chapter — I know I left it on a mini cliffhanger, but it will be out soon with more Zebra action. <_<. (Probably not the kind everyone wants though.) But yeah. Hehe. I know it wasn’t great, but knowing you guys are reading pushes me through the embarrassment. XD

-_-. Oh. Woe. Woe woe. Woe woe woe! I am out of Toriko Pirate pictures to post with my story. This makes me a really sad panda. The pics usually get more notes than the actual story *laments*.

I am also out of ideas in naming chapters. This means I just may have to resort to the Sorachi-sensei school of naming sh!t. How’s this for a title: “Chapter The Zebra: Poking Large Muscly Men With Sticks Leads Often to Unexpected Results (and pain).”

Errr …

Or perhaps chapters should be named after my desk snacks — in that case, the next chapter is going to be called “Turkey Pepperoni - 70% less Fat”

Seriously. Next chapter is done. Need Name. Cause I’m currently out of food puns. *Cries*

*turns off the timer for the writing exercise* You know that saying … the one involving words and writing, and needing to go through about a million before you even find one worth keeping?  Seems like I’m adding to my million pile today.

I totally need practice (until I finally decided to write for Toriko, I hadn’t written anything for fun in more than eight months) and man, I’m really feeling it tonight!

I was doing the “write as much as you can within a time limit” exercise. And well, since it’s an exercise in getting it all down, I chose a really stereotypical, overdone fandom premise so I wouldn’t have to think about too much and just concentrate on getting my prose to say what I wanted it to say.

Except, I did. Overthink it, I mean. And as a result … how in the hell did I manage to make a really tried-and-true-premise-with-a-potential-to-get-all- sexytiems boring I’m not certain but, well, yeah.

Then the time was up, and now I’m like “well shit.” I’m going to try again later, but before I do, does anyone out there have a good prompt they want to see done in the Toriko fandom? I’m apparently failing at prompting myself. *mutters* For writing challenges, I don’t generally do teh prons, since well … *blush* I get distracted. But I’m great at going on and on ad infinitium about boring stuff. XD

Okay, back to whacking at monsters with Link. And afterwards, pirates. Woohoo. I love having free time!

Her comics make me snerk and fear for my keyboard, simultaneously, especially if I have been imbibing near my keyboard at the time of snerking. :)

(For the record, if the bishoukuya thing ever fails, Toriko may have a shot at going to The Commander’s temp agency XD)

(And see, Ma? I have other interests besides just Toriko fandom. Heee. Seriously. I do. Really. *snort*)

Though I don’t mind Fi too much … I think I like Midna the best though. Welp, enough killing Link through sheer incompetence and the occasional odd  camera angle (seriously, the up the ass shots when something is trying to chomp off my head is NOT appreciated). Time to write something. I still don’t know what though. *headclutchy*

Can’t. Decide. Write drabble ideas or write long fic? Rrrrgh. Why Toriko fandom? Why do you spawn such a need to write fic at the first sign of free time?!

So, choices are these:  A) ficlet based on recent manga chapters B) ficlet involving the four kings and Komatsu on a camping trip, C) Pirate fic.

Screw it, I am going for D) turn on game console and whack away at monsters until solution appears. XD

*Grumbles* Though knowing myself, I’ll be back in an hour waffling again. XP

XD Never underestimate me and the pure power of sucki-tude I can summon. I swear it’s like a secret superpower.  Though I kinda really want to write the songfic about Life in Techinicolor II (Particularly about Komatsu viewing Zebra) because of the lines “I can hear the rain coming, like a serenade of sound” and the idea of a war coming, and that in his life, the presence of the bishoukuya are a storm waiting on the horizon (albeit one that energizes and brings change).

… plus the idea that the Kings really do see the world in technicolor.

(Besides, it’s a huge draw, stupidly enough, that the thing actually has a ready made title and I don’t have to run screaming around in a panic because I’ve named the fic something like “Komatsu and a Tomato” in my harddrive. XD)

*stops babbling about fic that I can’t write until I finish working anyway*

Actually, I’m kinda feeling so happy about having a tentative title for the fic I’ve been running around screaming in a panic about that I might take my next break and code the next part and throw it up here. X3 YAY!

Though I’m on the subject, I wonder what songs people associate with Toriko. It might make for a neat challenge, kinda like a song tag challenge.

Woo, due to some unexpected occurrences mid-week,  it’s going to be a long night on my end to finish a metric ton of work so I don’t have to worry about it over New Years. But hehe, I am going to take breaks every now and then just so my brain won’t implode.

Strangely enough, I think I have an idea of what to name the pirate fic. Actually, it isn’t as much of an idea as much as the fact that Coldplay got stuck in my head while working.

How does Viva la Vida sound? I kinda like the translation, Long Live Life. Or perhaps just A Pirate’s Life (for me) would be better. I dunno. I was browsing Youtube looking for pirate songs, and well … yeah.

(For some reason, moseying around for sea chanteys kept giving me lots. and lots and lots of Enya. Oooh, horsie!) I supposed Orinico Flow/Sail Away wouldn’t be a bad name for a fic but it kinda feels weird naming a Toriko fic after an Enya song. Huh. Enya sure did have the world’s most weirdest music videos. -_o.

Though now I want to write a Toriko fic, specially about Komatsu and Zebra or even Komatsu and the other kings to this song. IDEK. NO! MUST STOP LISTENING TO COLDPLAY. MUST WORK. SONGFICS TEND TO SUCK ANYWAY. *Sighs* *Grumbles*

*blush* Thank you for all your support on the pirate fic, and for the likes. It means a lot and makes me really happy.  At least I know someone’s reading the fic, right? It makes me want to finish it even more! :)

Today alone I was able to rewrite eight of the previously lost pages and add two more to the tally. All on the power of goodwill and well, to be honest, stark naked fear since …”oh great googly moogly, since people are reading it, I have to really finish it now, don’t I?” Yeah. Seven people reading. WOW. *HAPPY*

I’ll be putting up the next part tomorrow morning and possibly the next little bit after that tomorrow night (and thus give y’all some more four kings action) … but it’s all going private after new years so I can concentrate on finishing the fic. Alternatively, if I actually  MANAGE to finish the fic before new years, I may keep those parts up and just update on a regular weekly schedule after that.

I haven’t decided yet, but what would you prefer?

Oh, I also need a good name for the fic. PLEASE HELP. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I’ll write you fic! I’ll give you (metaphorical) cookies. I need help. PLEASE!

FINALLY. After hitting a snag and having to backtrack eight pages, the hippopotamus of a Toriko  fic (AKA: The Pirate Monstrosity)  is finally moving again. The end is in sight. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I don’t usually post a fic before it’s done (unless it’s under special circumstances, like Boxing Day) so I’m really relieved that this behemoth is finally lumbering its way towards a conclusion. It was my first fic for the Toriko fandom, and I would have liked it to be my first FINISHED thing too, but that didn’t happen.

Well, actually, I have made a page for my Toriko writing! (I sorta had to, since I um, somehow lost my first fic in all the weird posts I’ve made since then). I’m kinda proud of myself … until I realized probably eleven year olds could have done this, with less crowing, and more skill. Ah well. BUT YES. I have a fiction page now. For all three of my dinky Toriko Fics.

Woohoo. Maybe my grinchy heart (which has grown several sizes today) will feel fit to tackle FFNET after this. Maybe.

But here it is: behold … all my Toriko Fic! Erm, maybe this isn’t such a good idea. It actually kinda reminds of just how unpolished those are. *Facepalms*

Everything is tagged too, somewhat. Great googly moogly, all I see are Toriko Discussion tags and erm … tumblr fail. GAH.

Why is it always *just* after you post something that you notice the grammar mistake. And this time, it’s in the first sentence … and then the next, and then the next, and arrrgh. This is why I should never break the twenty four hour rule, even if it’s a quick drabble. Eh well. *Goes to fix* at least I found the edit button! YAY!
