Yaaaay! More pirate fic! XD Though honestly, I’m kinda embarrassed cause I took the idea from you in the first place! There is always enough room for more AUs, and I think every author will have their own unique spin on it. I’m kinda really excited for this. And I really like the idea that Komatsu is tougher  and the guys are real pirates … sometimes I wonder if I took the softer way out, since the Kings in my fic aren’t pirates because … well. … you’ll see. It’s also not anything revolutionary … it’s just a rewriting of the Toriko manga as if they were pirates and if Komatsu met all the four kings. One of the weaknesses is that it doesn’t have a driving storyline. It’s just like one event after another. *Face palm* I just hope people stick around. XD

Yours sounds awesome and does have a driving storyline. *SNERK at damsel in distress OOTAKE* The way you’re writing the kings as real pirates, it has a real edge that way. Though Komatsu’s choice … that’s something that I think both our fics will have to answer. *g*

I will confess that there’s also a “b” side to my fic in that I’ve been contemplating too … there are Gourmet Enforcers in the Empire I’m writing … though the normal ones are just military grunts, the upper echelons are composed of the Bishokukai — and it’s a world where they’ve won.  I’ve kinda thought about making a dystopian Au where the kings are bad guys who do let the appetites get the better of them, and Komatsu’s just been caught in violation of the ideals espoused by the dystopia (because, well, yeah).

I don’t actually write those things very well; I’m not a grim and gritty angst writer, to be honest. But this picture by mee isn’t helping any. Why am I so easily distracted?
